The Author

Hi, my name is Nina Soden and I’m an author.

Wow, it feels really funny to say that. I mean, I am an author. I have ten (12)published books; 7 novels (Awaken, Beginnings, Revenge, and Pursuit all part of the Blood Angel Series and The Chosen, The Hunted, and The Bridge the three books from the SECTOR C Trilogy), 1 poetry book, 1 mindfulness workbook (The Invisible You), and 3 author workbooks (So You Want To Write A Book, Just Write, and #WritingPrompts), and yet calling myself an author still feels strange.

Author is only one of the many hats or ‘personalities’ I wear throughout my day. My most important? Mommy, that one simple word means the world to me and hearing it when my kids call me – well, that melts my heart. The other hats I love to wear: wife, daughter, sister, actress, and artist. The hats I wear because everyone has to make a living and keep the house in order: employee, consultant, chauffeur (when you have kids – you are nothing if not a chauffeur), cook, assistant cheer coach, etc., etc., etc. Hats I’m learning to wear: self-publicist, marketing specialist, social-media specialist, and all the others that go with being an Indie-Author. When I started writing, I had no idea how much work it takes to be an author. To put it simply, you do everything on your own and it is HARD WORK!

This blog was originally started to keep a record of my journey as I wrote, edited, and published my first young adult novel ~ Awaken (book 1 in the Blood Angel Series). Well, I did it, and Beginnings (book 2), and Revenge (book 3) quickly followed.  It was an exciting adventure and I learned so much along the way. Before publishing what I thought was the final book (Revenge), I put the first two books through a rigorous re-edit and rewrite in order to make sure that they were the best they could be. After that was all done, I truly could say that I felt fully confident that all three of these books were exactly how I wanted them to be. Book 4, Pursuit (my 6th novel) came late, much later in October of 2016. It was unplanned but developed out of an idea given to me by one of my readers. I suppose, when I reader asks you to keep writing – you keep writing.

But, I didn’t stop with the Blood Angel Series!

I continued to write and on March 30, 2015 I published my 4th novel The Chosen (book 1 in the SECTOR C Series) and followed it up with The Hunted (book 2 in the SECTOR C Series) on November 8, 2015. The final book in the SECTOR C Series, The Bridge, was released February 4, 2018.

I would love to share all of my books with you and find out what you think. If you are interested in learning more about the Blood Angel Series, the SECTOR C Series, or any of my other books, please take a few seconds and spend the few dollars it takes to download my eBooks or order your paperback version – and please tell your family, bribe your friends and blackmail your enemies into picking up a copy of their own.

What Is Next?

Well, the best thing about being an author is that I have a bunch of story ideas floating around in my head at all times. So, right now I am working on a new stand alone novel. At this point I can’t say to much as I’m just in the planning and outlining phase, but I’m excited to share more as I get deeper into the writing.

Hop on… join the ride… and click follow to come along on this new adventure.

And, if all that isn’t enough… follow me because when I get writer’s block and end up going way off topic, and challenging myself to discover new things about myself or just new things about the world in general, I’ll take you along on that journey too. You have to love the power of Social Media!

  1. I like the line about blackmailing your enemies. That brought a smile to my face. Good luck on your third book.

    • Thank you for stopping by, and I’m serious about blackmailing your enemies… its a great book but why should you keep it to yourself of just in the circle of friends and family. 🙂
      Have a great day.

  2. Nina,
I just rediscovered your comment on my post “That Obnoxious Jerk is Doing You a Favor” in which you asked to read one of my scripts. I AM SO SORRY I didn’t get back to you sooner. Please email me at “valerie at speakhappiness dot com” and we can figure out what types of movies you like and might enjoy reading. Unfortunately, I can only send things I still hold the rights to, but frankly, those are usually the better ones anyway. Somehow, it’s always the crappy ones that get bought…
