I’m sure you’ve heard the term ‘mindfulness’, its the latest health and mental wellness fad these days. Yet, it isn’t a fad at all. Aspects of mindfulness, such as meditation, breathing exercises, self-compassion time, body scans, active listening, etc. have been used for centuries. Mindfulness is nothing new, we’ve just given it a name.

Years ago I decided to get certified in Stress Management and Mind/Body Fitness. One of my takeaways from that adventure was the importance of meditation and mindfulness for mental health and stress reduction. To that end, meditation, therapeutic journaling, as well as coloring have stayed with me and become a very important part of my regular routine. Because of the benefits I’ve personally experienced, and the increased interest in mindfulness worldwide, I decided it was time to share the techniques I’ve used for so many years.
