  • Saturday, May 3 at 7pm
  • Sunday, May 4th at 2pm

Performed at: The Princess Theatre, 112 Second Ave. NE, Decatur, AL 35601

Synopsis: Adapted from the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, To Kill a Mockingbird opens in a sleepy Alabama town in the midst of the Great Depression, where Scout and her brother, Jem, live with their widowed father, Atticus Finch. Reminiscent of a bygone era, the play immerses us in a simpler time as the children play outside in the summer, act out stories and muse about their mysterious neighbor, Boo Radley. The facade of the seemingly peaceful town begins to crack when a young black man is accused of a terrible crime. Driven by an unshakeable moral conviction, local lawyer Atticus defends the man in a trial that sends violent waves through the community. Timeless and lingering, this hard-hitting work explores prejudice, compassion and the courage to do what is right.
This is the revised adaption by Christopher Sergel.

Some of you already know me, others may not. I’ve been in the Huntsville theater scene off and on for about 20 years now. I’ve acted, directed, and produced productions with several different theater companies and theater is a passion of mine. I am so excited to be able to support all of the local theater companies and organizations by helping to market your productions. If you have questions don’t hesitate to reach out. You can email me at ninasodenbooks@gmail.com or call me at 256-520-9640. My plan is to get this email out weekly, as long as there are submissions to send.

Aside from being a part of the theater community, I am a local Realtor who works with home buyers and sellers. I have a passion for real estate and an enthusiasm for helping others find their dream home. I enjoy connecting with my clients and strive to provide high-quality communication and personalized customer service. As a Realtor, my priority is to provide a 5-star experience and make my clients comfortable and happy. I recognize and value the level of trust my clients place in me. That is why I have a team of professionals working with me. Together, we work hard to exceed our clients’ expectations.  We listen to our client’s wants and needs to achieve the best outcome in every transaction, and we make every effort to ensure that the home buying or selling process is fun, easy, and stress-free. Our clients can count on us any time of day when they have a question or concern.

Why do I bring that up? Because, as part of my community-focused initiative for 2025 I am offering to donate a portion of my real estate profits to be given back to local theater organizations to help with production costs, set design, costumes, or anything else that is needed. So, if you have a real estate need and are part of the theater community or enjoy theater as an audience member, give me a call at 256-520-9640. If you decide to work with me for your home purchase or sale, and you let me know you heard about me through THEATRE HAPPENINGS, I will donate a portion of my real estate profits from your transaction to the theater organization of your choosing.
