Today is the 12th Edition of #WritingWednesday!!!
Remember, #WritingWednesday is an EASY, STRESS-FREE, weekly writing challenge.
• Read the writing prompt below,
• Spend 5 minutes writing (in your own voice or the voice of a character you’re writing) whatever comes to mind,
• DON’T EDIT what you write! IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE PERFECT!
The goal is 5 minutes of creativity.
Today I am writing in the voice of Stella, one of the characters in the novel I am currently outlining. I’m not sure if this will be a selection in the novel, or just part of my character development journal.
Today’s writing prompt:
When was the last time you got lost?
I get lost a lot. Not physically, that would be impossible seeing as I live in a ten-foot by ten-foot room and am followed by armed guards whenever I’m allowed out. No, I get lost mentally. I’ve found myself in a home in the suburbs, on the edge of a cliff, and sailing in the middle of the vast ocean with no land in sight.
A mind is a beautiful thing, but it can also be a very scary place when your whole life is spent exploring the thoughts of others. What I wouldn’t give to just be home. To be safe, surrounded by my family, and loved instead of valued.

Today I am writing in the voice of Charlotte, a character in my upcoming short story, Fleeting Shadows.
The last time I got lost, it was for a long, long time. My whole life up to that point, in fact. I was born younger sister to the acclaimed spy, Rylee Kendler. She wasn’t an acclaimed spy when I was born, but it didn’t take long for her to get there. Seeing as my secondary power is shapeshifting, I fit right in amongst the ranks of the spies. I was never the best but I was far from the worst. When you work, or even train, for the Wings of Salvator, they get in your head. They teach you all about Shadow supremacy, and you come to believe it. That’s why when you’re sent to spy on the Princess of another tribe, you think nothing of it. You think it’s normal, that every tribe has people that do this. I couldn’t have been more wrong. When Elyse found me out, I got my butt handed to me, as well as a new set of morals. I learned that there are actually consequences for members of the Wings of Salvator, even if Philip acts like there aren’t. That’s why I’m more than happy to help Elyse take him down now. As the two of us enter the Tacet Festival, I am more than excited about what we are about to do.

Lost? I’ve never been lost, it’s impossible to get lost when you’re always adventuring and looking for somewhere new. My ship is my home, and I’ll never have to pretend to be lost. I don’t ever want to see the same planet twice, unless it’s for my own reasons, not because I’m looking for somewhere new.
You’ll never find lost in my dictionary, I removed it. Lost isn’t something I believe in, there’s endless places to see and travel to, so I don’t even have a destination. Lost is impossible when you don’t have a destination.
