When Stress Steals Your Creativity

Stress has a funny way of silencing imagination. At least for me.

Instead of dreaming up new worlds, my mind starts making endless lists of everything that needs my attention. Characters stop talking. Plots stop moving. Even opening the manuscript can feel overwhelming.

I’ve learned that creativity isn’t always something I can force, no matter how hard I try.

Sometimes the most productive thing a writer can do is step away for a little while. Take a walk. Read someone else’s story. Spend time with people you love.

Writing doesn’t disappear because life gets difficult. It simply waits patiently until your mind has room to create again.

And when that space returns, the stories usually come back stronger than before. At least that is what I am telling myself.

Have you been there? Share your story below.
